Pragmatic Play’s adventurous archaeologist has returned to find lost artefacts of ancient Egypt in the studio’s latest slot sequel, John Hunter and the Book of Tut Megaways.

Out now

John Hunter and the Book of Tut Megaways is a six-reel slot with between two and seven rows, up to 117,649-ways to win and a maximum win of up to x10,000 the player’s bet.

96 per cent

Low value symbols are represented by the high end of a deck of cards, from 10 through to Ace. If the right number of matching combinations land on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x0.1 and x0.5 the player’s bet.

Meanwhile, scarab beetles, cats, pharaohs and John Hunter himself depict the high value symbols, offering between x0.25 and x2 the player’s preferred wager.

Book scatters are also available, triggering 10 free spins if three or more land on the same spin. Additionally, landing three, four, five or six scatters on the same spin will award instant payouts of x3, x15, 100 or x500 the player’s bet respectively.

Finally, wild pyramids can appear, substituting for all symbols other than the book scatters.

Throughout the game, a randomly triggered expanding symbols feature can occur. This causes one low or high value symbols to be chosen at random to be enhanced for one spin only.

On this enhanced spin, the grid will payout all initial wins when the standard symbols drop into play. After those wins have been paid, the chosen symbol will expand across each reel it has dropped into, massively increasing the win potential for that spin.

As the free spins begin, one symbol is chosen to have this expanding feature for the entirety of the bonus game mode.

Furthermore, players can buy access to the free spins feature for the price of x100 their stake. An ante bet option is also available, allowing players to increase their stake by 25 per cent – without affecting paytable prizes – to gain a higher chance of landing bonus symbols.

Irina Cornides, Chief Operating Officer at Pragmatic Play, stated: “The release of our ninth title in the John Hunter franchise closely follows the milestone launch of our 10th Big Bass game, a true testament to the popularity of these hit slots, underpinned by our drive to continue delivering player favourite experiences time and time again.

“This latest John Hunter adventure provides new thrills in the form of offering players up to 117,649-ways to win, with special expanding symbols for extra chances to land prizes in the base game and free spins. It’s another iconic return by our famed explorer, and it’s one that will resonate with fans of the series looking for great gameplay topped up by the power of Megaways.”
