In the latest edition of our Rhymes and Life feature we spoke to Sean Randall, Head of Strategy at Gibfibre, who discussed his love for Guns & Roses and which rock album is nothing short of a masterpiece.
What was your first-ever gig, and what was it like?
Guns & Roses (use your illusion tour), Seville, 1992, during the Seville Expo.
What’s the best performance you have ever seen live, and why was it so good?
The Cult, Sonic Temple tour at Hammersmith Odeon, London.
Is there an artist who, in your eyes, can do no wrong? If so, why?
Michael Hutchence, the best frontman of all time. RIP. Women want to be with him and men want to be him!
What is your most cherished album, and what makes it so special to you?
Van Halen, 5150 album. The first album with Sammy Hagar, a masterpiece.
What song always makes it to your gym playlist? What activities do you usually do in the gym while listening to it?
Born Slippy, Underworld. At the gym I prefer house music, especially when I’m on the running machine. The tempo of house music is in sync with my heart rate.
Which artist or song helps take your mind off work? Why have you chosen this artist and genre?
My passion is rock and indie, preferably both together. Kasabian is the sound that I enjoy that the moment. A song in particular that I like is Stevie.
If you could go on a night out with any musician, who would it be, and where would you take them?
A night out with Michael Hutchence, I would take him to the INXS Wembley concert 13 July 1991.
