Tom Horn Gaming’s recently released title, Beast Coinz, was the focus of the latest episode of Beyond the Reels, as Samuel Žido, the studio’s game producer, explained how the title seeks to inject more “interactivity and character-driven mechanics” for players.

The title is a 5×5 reel medium volatility slot with cyberpunk-style visuals and featuring three collect symbols –  cats, eagles and wolves.

Before each game round, players choose from one of the three collect symbols, each of which carries their own multipliers, and this is where, Žido explained, players get to choose their own game journey.

He said: “From day one, our goal with Beast Coinz was to create a game where player interaction, choice and progression take centre stage. We didn’t want it to just be another coin feature or a collection slot.

“We wanted players to feel like they are part of the action with the game that evolves based on their decisions. So the core experience we aimed for was a sense of ownership and discovery. By offering meaningful choice, Beast Coinz stands out as a game that puts the player in the driver’s seat, and that connection creates a stronger engagement and longer play session.”

Beast Coinz also features Tom Horn’s BeastX game mechanic. Activated when a player achieves a win, the winning combinations shatter to allow new symbols to appear, forming new winning combinations.

The combination of features, such as BeastX and the interactive nature of the game, Žido detailed, means that Beast Coinz was built “with a long-term vision in mind” and is perfectly placed to transition into a series of titles.

“If the game connects with players in the way we expect, there is a huge potential to evolve it into a franchise that grows over time, both in terms of gameplay, brand recognition and visuals.

“The character-based structure is especially ripe for expansion. We could easily introduce new beasts, for example, with unique multipliers, behaviours, symbol interaction or even game-altering powers. This gives us flexibility to refresh the experience without changing the core gameplay loop that players already love.”

He added that the modular structure, character choice and progression paths of the title make it well-suited for season versions of the title, as well as branded content and crossover features with other titles in Tom Horn’s portfolio.
