Earlier this week BF Games introduced the industry to its new ‘Remastered Series’ which includes enhanced versions of a variety of its ‘most popular’ slot titles from its extensive portfolio with updated ‘modern graphics’ and ‘fresh soundtracks’.
BF Games’ Stunning Hot slot will be the inaugural title to be included in its Remastered Series with Stunning Hot 20 Deluxe scheduled to be added to the series in the not too distant future.
SlotBeats spoke exclusively to Claudia Melcaru, head of business development at BF Games to venture further into the reasoning behind the Remastered Series, what inspired them and some of difficulties in appealing to a new audience.
SlotBeats: Can you tell us more about your Remastered Series?
Claudia Melcaru: BF Games started off by developing games for the land-based sector. Continuously in our Top five list of most popular games are a few titles from our land-based era, meaning games that have been converted popular from retail into online versions.
Over the years, we have innovated and created better looking games with more features, tailored for the online player. However, there are still three games that are among our best performers across all markets: Stunning Hot, Stunning Hot 20 Deluxe and Royal Crown.
So, we decided to update the design and UI of these games to give them a fresh look while keeping the same math model that our players know and love.
SB: What inspired you to do this series?
CM: Realising that having an old game that is still a top performer in today’s market made us think that instead of focusing on coming up with new creative concepts and out-of-this-world themes, we should revisit the classic fruit games.
We wanted to celebrate our beginnings and heritage from over 10 years ago when fruit slots were the best. Some will argue that they still are.
SB: What type of games can fans expect to see in the Remastered Series?
CM: Three games that have been in our portfolio since the inception of BF Games: Stunning Hot, Stunning Hot 20 Deluxe and Royal Crown. All titles have a simple and attractive math model, a gamble mode, respins and up to 20 paylines.
SB: Is there a growing popularity in revamping older slots? If so/not why is that?
CM: We have been doing this for a while now while still developing new concepts. In our case, a big part of our player base consists of traditional players looking for something new yet not too unfamiliar. So for us, revamping works.
SB: How hard is it to remaster a game for a newer audience whilst still incorporating the aspects players have come to know and love?
CM: Very easy for us as our team has expanded and evolved a lot over the years, bringing in a lot of new ideas. The key is to keep the aspects that we know make the game popular and only make subtle tweaks that make it feel fresh but without introducing unfamiliar and complicated features.
For us it is a fun process rather than a challenging one. We all enjoy seeing our best-performing original games wear new clothes.
