Evoplay kicked off 2021, still then known as Evoplay Entertainment before the company’s rebrand, claiming our first Slot of the Week award of the year with its 3D slot title, Treasure Mania.
Centred around an underground exploration with Warf the Dwarf, Treasure Mania is a 5×3 3D video slot which includes 20-fixed paylines along with various features including mystery symbols, the wild train and free spin rounds.
“With stunning visuals and thrilling gameplay, we’re sure players will love the fun-filled adventure provided by our latest slot, Treasure Mania,” commented Ivan Kravchuk, CEO at Evoplay Entertainment, on the launch of the slot.
“There’s a stack of exciting features and a wealth of riches waiting to be discovered – just make sure you keep them safely tucked away from that pesky goblin. We look forward to launching yet more thrilling releases in the year to come, and fun-loving players should keep a lookout for our 2021 flagship title.”
The mystery symbols can land anywhere on the reel. Once it lands, it opens and reveals any paying symbol. When the mystery lands and reveals symbols, all matching symbols from left to right on a win line are paid.
Furthermore, the wild train symbol may appear on the middle reel after any losing spin. The wild wrain event can’t be triggered if the mystery symbols are present.
When the wild train appears on the reel, it replaces all symbols and covers the middle reel. All matching symbols from left to right on a win line are paid. If the wild train does not form any winning combinations then one more appears on a random reel.
Up next saw BGaming’s first ‘chameleon-slot’ Fruit Million, claim our SOTW award. Spawning various variants throughout 2021, the six-reel video slot has a medium to high volatility level with an RTP of 97 per cent.
Upon hearing the news, Marina Ostrovtosva, director at BGaming, stated the company was ‘honoured’ to receive the SlotBeats Slot of the Week so soon after the launch emphasising the company’s focus on ‘high quality games’.
During the base game, players can catch a wild symbol on reels two, three, and four which will expand on the whole reel, occupying the upper and lower cells while forming multiple winning combinations, up to x3,000 the bet.
Commenting on the slot’s ever changing appearance, Ostrovtosva concluded: “Slot games come and go. But we’ve decided to create a long-lasting high-quality game that will appeal to the players and at the same time will never lose relevance, coincide with the mood and get only better with time. That’s how the chameleon-slot Fruit Million was actually born.”
The third SOTW for January saw Scientific Games’ respin on Hasbro’s renowned board game, as the slot supplier and toy manufacturer continued its collaborative partnership with Cluedo Cash Mystery.
This 5×3, 20-payline video slot by SG Digital includes 180-free spin combinations within the game along with numerous symbol modifiers inspired by characters from the game.
Talking to CasinoBeats at the time of the slots launch, Rob Procter, content specialist director of digital at Scientific Games, spoke of why the company decided to tackle the hugely popular board game. He noted: “We felt there was a gap in the market for this particular type of game and wanted to explore how we could add something different to one of the world’s most popular board games.
“For Cluedo Cash Mystery, the slot mechanics actually came before the theme as we knew we wanted to create a game that had more than one bonus round. It’s an area of our content catalogue that has previously been lacking and some of our competitors are doing well within, so this is the first step to bring more feature-rich titles to our offering.
“When it came to brainstorming themes, Cluedo was brought up and its format was identified as a natural fit for how we can assign the characters, rooms and implements to different aspects of the bonus round features.”
Speaking on Hasbro’s collaboration with Scientific Games’ Mark Blecher, SVP corporate strategy and business affairs at Hasbro, commented: “For more than 90 years, Hasbro has been dedicated to delivering gaming entertainment with exceptional quality.
“Creating products that our customers can trust is of the utmost importance to us, and with Scientific Games, we know that our brands are in the safest of hands. After the success of Monopoly, it’s a pleasure to see even more of our iconic games spark great innovation in the gaming industry and enable more players to enjoy our brands across the globe.”
The final Slot of the Week award for January was given to iSoftBet for its underwater Megaways title – Netune’s Fortune Megaways.
The title is a six-reel with 46,656 ways to win along with pearl wilds which trigger the treasure chest feature as well as multipliers and a bonus round.
Mark Claxton, head of games at iSoftBet, said: “Journey to the realm of the Roman God of the seas in our latest hit, Neptune’s Fortune Megaways. Packed full of features and incorporating thrilling Megaways mechanics, any trip to the depths can see players return to land laden with wins.
