Midway through February, Yggdrasil claimed our first Slot of the Week with its Brazil Bomba to kick start the weekly awards.

The 6×8 video slot invited players to samba their way through the world’s biggest carnival set in the vibrant city of Rio De Janeiro.

Players danced the night away as symbols cascaded down the grid with every cluster of six or more identical symbols awarding wins.

If players land a bomb symbol, it will explode across the reels in a star formation, clearing up to 16 positions, allowing new symbols to fall into the vacant places for more win potentials.

Bigwinboard.com said the slot provides a ‘more rounded experience’ than many similar styled slots. They went on to say: “It offers a more straightforward slot experience with pleasing effects and features, and a solid potential backing it all up.

“The base game can dish up high-value clusters which are made even more desirable by the Multiplier. Or, score a good roll during free spins and you’ll feel like dancing samba at the Copacabana Palace.”

Evoplay Entertainment followed to end February’s short but sweet winners as it lauded the industry’s ‘first ever role-playing game’ with Dungeon: Immortal Evil.

The title, which included more than a year of research and development, is said to utilise ‘the latest in 3D gaming technology’ and designed to be ‘mobile-perfect for handheld gaming’.

Differing from traditional slot titles which use pay symbols and patterns within its gameplay. Dungeons game mechanics has players following an in-game avatar throughout various battles as the money players win comes from the loot drops after being victorious.

In place of Free Spins, players must battle their way through a number of dungeon spaces to real the Dungeon boss, where a bet multiplier of up to 5000x can be won.

At the time of the launch, Evoplay Entertainment’s product owner, Roman Sadovskyi, spoke to CasinoBeats about embracing the RPG elements and staying firm through a lengthy development phase.

“Our idea in creating the industry’s first RPG slot was to merge the line between classic slots and immersive gaming – designed to offer our operator partners a completely new igaming experience for the latest generation of players while turning the approach to developing slots on its head.” noted Sadovskyi

“Of course, when it comes to disruptive concepts, the development process always brings challenges. Our ambition was to combine several game genres in pursuit of a fresh and unique gaming experience.”
