As the links between video games and online casino continue to be taken to new levels, the Game Play series discovers how key characters within the gambling industry embarked on their gaming journey.

In this week’s feature we spoke to Christoffer Andersson, Chief Operating Officer at 500 Casino, who gave some quick-fire responses to questions on his first loves in video games while delving into his love of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Are you a PC or console gamer?

Both

What was your first Console?

Super Nintendo (SNES)

What is the first video game you ever played?

Duck Hunt on the NES at a friends house

What is your favourite game of all time and why?

It is a close race between Zelda: A Link to the Past and Shenmue so I will pick both.

Zelda: A Link to the Past is the best game of the Zelda series, regardless of how good the latest on Switch is, for its presentation, the storyline and the use of the top-down perspective instead of the side scroller, and of course the innovative gameplay with all the puzzle games and hidden easter eggs.

Shenmue on Sega Dreamcast laid the foundation for a lot of open world adventure games.
You could do more or less what you wanted in that game, from going into a shop and using a vending machine to challenging random people in darts or other games. Regardless of the massive amount of choices, it still managed to keep you on track with the story line, which wasn’t bad either.

What mobile game have you spent the most time playing

I do actually not play much on my mobile, at the time I actually did it, I mainly played Tower Defense Games.

Last video game completed?

That was a few years ago, but I guess it was Super Smash Brothers (Switch) after losing all my saved data.

Favourite video game character?

Bowser, he is hard on the outside but actually quite soft on the inside.

Favourite all time slot?

I will go a with a quite old one: Pharaoh’s Tomb from Novomatic
