“We needed to encapsulate what players enjoyed from the original games,” noted Gareth Scott, commercial director at Gaming Realms when explaining what inspired the firm to incorporate previous features into their newly released Slingo Fluffy Favourites.
Last month, Gaming Realms partnered up with Eyecon to release its ‘most eyecon-ic’ slot title adding Slingo Fluffy Favourites, which claimed our Slot of the Week, to its expanding portfolio.
As a result of the collaboration, the mobile-focused developer was granted the rights to license Eyecon’s Fluffy Favourites brand to create its brand new slot title that will combine the Slingo grid mechanic and all the original features of the Fluffy Favourite slot.
SlotBeats spoke to Scott to get a deeper insight to how the idea developed, inspiration behind the features and its partnership with Eyecon moving forward.
SlotBeats: Can you tell me more about how Slingo Fluffy Favourites initially arose as an idea?
Gareth Scott: We’ve known the team at Eyecon for some time, and always discussed the prospect of a collaboration. Given the fact that Fluffy Favourites is a core offering to UK players, combined with the expanded success of the Slingo genre – it became clear very quickly that a licensing partnership was both exciting and complementary to both organisations.
SB: What inspired you to incorporate fan-favourite features from previous titles in the Fluffy franchise?
GS: This was one of the easier aspects of the game production, we absolutely wanted to emulate key aspects of the Fluffy Favourite franchise. While SFF is a Slingo game at heart, we needed to encapsulate what players enjoyed from the original game – the features really stood out from day one.
SB: You recently announced a partnership with Eyecon, how pivotal were they in the development of this title?
GS: Fluffy Favourites is synonymous with the Eyecon gaming brand, and like any brand owner they’re provided consultation and insights from the start of the project to the very end. Eyecon were very keen that we didn’t lose sight of what has made FF so successful, while treading the balancing act of allowing Gaming Realms space to deliver a successful Slingo game.
SB: How has the response to the title been?
GS: Our customers have been pretty much universal in their approval of SFF and have launched the game across their sites, we have seen various promotions and tie-ins with the original games to maximise awareness.
SB: Are there any plans in the near future to revisit Fluffy and work with Eyecon again?
GS: Our immediate plans are to distribute SFF as far and wide to our network as possible. The next phase will be to come together with Eyecon to analyse performance and distribution.
We’re always looking to develop Slingo with core market brands and we’re very engaged with the Eyecon team, partnering is quite often the key to success – so there is a strong possibility that we’ll work with Eyecon again in the future.
