On the surface, opportunities for expansion are prevalent across a wide range of locales around the world. However, delve below the surface, and the real struggle to make any real headway is clear for all to see.
As the inevitable frantic race accompanies the doors being swung open on any newly regulated jurisdiction, a constant jockeying for position occurs across legalised markets of all ages – both new and legacy.
With Europe a mainstay for iGaming studios looking to make a splash, US possibilities firmly remain on the radar, while Latin America has moved on from long being billed as the next big thing to providing the opportunities long desired by many across the industry.
Despite previously acknowledging the deep potential possessed by the latter, Pascal Gaming Head of Sales, Armen Mnaskanian, is keen to reassure that the studio is far from putting all of its eggs in one basket.
The possibilities across the African continent are clear for all to see, with conversations regarding the best way to capitalise on these increasing in prominence.
July saw Pascal Gaming set the stage for its own sustained assault on the region, with expansion coming courtesy of certification to supply titles to South Africa.
In total, 13 of the developer’s gaming suite was initially given the green-light, with Pascal Gaming vowing to deliver “thrilling gameplay” combined with “modern twists” across a number of verticals.
“Africa is one of the fastest-growing regions, with a market that is mobile-driven and retail-friendly,” Mnaskanian says of the opportunities possessed by Africa, as well as how and where these will be exploited.
“Our lightweight instant and crash games fit perfectly, because they are simple, exciting, and optimised for mobile devices. We already hold certification in South Africa, and our plan is to expand in Africa and focus on both online and retail channels.”
Despite all the talk of geographical possibilities and the best strategies to take advantage of these, one critical aspect remains consistent to ensure that you can truly make a huge splash.
This centres around the necessity to develop an effective UX to ensure that a heightened appeal to players is evident when interacting with the studio’s products.
To round-off the latest in a series of SlotBeats spotlights, Mnaskanian discusses what importance Pascal Gaming places on UX to achieve each of its goals.
“UX is absolutely central,” he notes. “We design everything mobile-first, with clear interfaces and fast performance. A strong UX ensures that players trust the games, stay engaged, and return.
“In short, effective UX is the foundation for consistent growth and long-term success in every market.”
