In the gambling and gaming industry ‘quality reigns supreme,’ according to Magnus Olsson, head of sales and account management at Play’n GO.
Speaking to SlotBeats ahead of CasinoBeats Slots Festival, Olsson highlighted quality as the primary key to success in the gaming industry, and also discussed his company’s plans for 2021.
“We all miss meeting our audience and our customers, and can’t wait to get back on the road again,” he began. “In the meantime, events like the Slots Festival provides a way for us to showcase all the good stuff we’ve been working on. Content is key, and we really appreciate the opportunity to share our contributions with all of you.”
Olsson then discussed Play’n GO’s plans for 2021, which will see the firm release another game in its Cat Wilde series – Cat Wilde in the Eclipse of the Sun God – as well as continuing with the Lord Merlin and the Lady in the Lake franchise.
“Our 2021 roadmap is built on three pillars,” he said. “One – we continue to build out the sagas, or sequels, with a twist. You will see the universes of the Wilde family, the Reactoonz creatures and other well known Play’n GO characters expand and develop in different ways. The Arthurian Legend will get some well deserved air time too. And a few surprises…
“Two, we are upping our game on the IP front. You all know our music games, this year we will bring mega names to the world of slots. What’s key here is the direct relationship we have with the artists, athletes or performers.
“They are part of the creative journey, the marketing and the sales; as soon as we can travel and meet again, we’ll be bringing some very cool guests to our events.
“Three, we are innovating and expanding the idea of what a slot can be. You saw the likes of Diamond Vortex and Gold Volcano last year, this year we’ll give you even more.”
Following the company’s recent achievement of launching 52 slot titles 2020, Olsson also discussed the keys to the firm’s success, once again highlighting quality but also diligent production.
He pointed in particular to how the firm’s 2021 roadmap could eclipse the previous year, effectively resulting in potentially one new release every week, all enabled by building ‘production capacity very diligently over several years.’
“A ‘hidden’ part of our success is that the quality goes beyond the games,” he added. “We launch every game in every jurisdiction at the exact same time, we have stability and availability on the platform and we have built out all support functions in the same pace. This makes it easier and also very resilient.“
Finally, Olsson offered advice to Slot Festival attendees and hinted at what to expect from Play’n GO in 2021: “It is all centred around one single thought: to create the best digital entertainment in the world.”
Play’n GO will be showcasing eight of its games at the Slots Festival – Cat Wilde in the Eclipse of the Sun God, Thunderscreech, Bull in China Shop, Golden Osiris, Lord Merlin and the Lady in the Lake, Miner Donkey Trouble, Gold Volcano and Jolly Roger II.
