Three slots that caught our eye in 2025

Among the sea of slot releases that crossed our desk in 2025, we have picked out the three that really caught our attention.

Greentube’s gritty underworld clash

First up is Greentube’s gangland-themed title, Gang Wars, released in April.

The 5×4 reel slot is set deep in the murky underworld, where players are thrust into the middle of a battle between four competing gangs.

The title’s higher value symbols are represented by members of the four gangs, the clubs (green gang), the spirits (red gang), the dames (yellow gang) and the chains (blue gang), who are also the subjects of the bonus game.

When a player lands three Molotov cocktails in the base game, the reels transform and are split into four segments of four squares, representing the territory of the four gangs.

Each gang is awarded a multiplier, and during the spins, gang members can land on any square, increasing their territory.

Once all spins are completed, the gang with the most territory wins, and the accrued multiplier on the winning gang leader is applied to the player’s bet.

Bernd Baumert, Director of Games Production and Operations at Greentube, said: “Gang Wars is all about high-octane action and shifting dynamics. With Mystery Stack mechanics and a colourful twist on a Free Spin feature that puts territory control at the heart of gameplay, we’re offering players an experience full of adrenaline and unpredictability.

Luck of the Irish

St Patrick’s Day is always a busy period for slot releases, however, it was Thunderkick’s The Golden Pot & Pints that claimed slot of the week ahead of the week ahead of the festivities.

Green clovers, stout beers and blue horseshoes all feature in the 7×7 cluster pays slot, which has an RTP of 94.08% to 94.46% and a high volatility.

The title’s scatter symbols are represented by bells, which trigger the bonus game when three or more appear on the reels. Three scatters award 10 free spins, with each additional scatter awarding two more free spins.

Players also have the chance to instantly gain access to the bonus game for x100 their player’s bet. Meanwhile, four ante bets are available too: bonus boost for x1.5 the player’s wager, bonus boost plus for x2.5 the player’s wager, wild mode for x3.5 the player’s wager and bonus boost extreme for x10 the player’s wager.

Johannes Polbring, Game Product Owner at Thunderkick, commented: “There are plenty of Irish-themed products out there, but The Golden Pot & Pints offers a unique player experience. Random multipliers up to x100 ensure every spin is filled with anticipation and potential, while a range of integrated ante bet options cater to individual play styles.

Yogi Bear returns

Blueprint Gaming is well known for its IP-led titles, and the developer’s release of Yogi Bear in November release lent heavily into nostalgia.

Characters from the TV series, including Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo, Cindy Bear and Ranger Smith, all feature in the game, alongside features such as money collect, picnic trail, free spins, pic-a-nic payday and power play.

Players progress along the picnic trail feature every time a collect symbol lands, unlocking new features at certain points, and if the picnic trail is completed by the player, the power play game is unlocked for additional prizes and bonus features.

“Yogi Bear is another brilliant example of how we breathe new life into cherished characters and worlds,” said Jo Purvis, Director of Marketing, PR and Events at Blueprint Gaming, at the time of the release.

“The game captures everything players love about Yogi and the gang — the cheeky fun, the classic charm, and that sense of adventure — while delivering the engaging mechanics and feature depth Blueprint is known for. It’s a slot that’s truly smarter than the average bear.”
