“A lot of our videos try to showcase our games and what makes them special,” noted William Burrows, vice president design at Crazy Tooth Studio, who explained the company’s use of its CTS Lab Video’s as a marketing tool when promoting its new slot titles.

Crazy Tooth Studio released its latest slot title Ancient Warriors at the start of the month, which incorporated the inclusion of a CTS Lab Video alongside the usual game promotion video.

SlotBeats spoke to Burrows about the inspiration behind the videos, the impacts it has made and whether companies are reserved about thinking ‘outside the box’.

SlotBeats: What inspired you to do the YouTube videos in collaboration with the launch of your games?

William Burrows: We’ve always enjoyed making videos, whether they had anything to do with our games or not. With the ‘CTS Lab Videos’ we wanted to introduce our igaming titles by showing a little bit of the process behind making the games. 

The brave game scientists here at Crazy Tooth work tirelessly to bring new and exciting games to players!

SB: What impact have the videos made?

WB: Over the years our videos have served as everything from self-promotion to self-indulgence but the recent CTS Lab videos have done a good job of getting our name out there in a different way and to show that to make great games sometimes it takes a team of very, very serious designers having a great time.

SB: What are the main things you try to showcase in your videos?

WB: A lot of our videos try to showcase our games and what makes them special. The CTS Lab videos, hopefully, show what makes our studio special – that we love what we do and we’re thankful to have such a great group doing such awesome ‘work’.

SB: Do you think companies are reserved in thinking outside the box in terms of marketing/advertising?

WB: I think studios, publishers, casinos, affiliates they’re all trying to reach players to let them know about fun new igaming content. We’ve seen some creative stuff on social media and some of the streamers out there are becoming quite entertaining personalities. 

We’d love to see more of that! We’re in a fun industry and I think more and more the marketing should and will reflect that.

SB: Is there anything else down the pipelines in the next six to 12 months?

WB: Crazy Tooth Studio has had a great year of releases so far and that will continue with more titles coming before the end of the year. We’re always working on the next games and 2021 should be even more exciting than 2020.
