THE SYMBOLS

Five sketched emblems depict the low value symbols, offering between x0.05 and x0.4 the player’s stake if the correct number of winning combinations land on a single spin.

Meanwhile, crows, snakes, rams, wolves and a shadow girl character depict the medium value symbols. If the right amount of paying combinations land at once, these symbols can offer between x0.25 and x1.2 the player’s preferred wager.

Evil-eyed variants of the medium value symbols represent the enhanced high value symbols for this title, offering between x0.5 and x5 the player’s bet.

Wild wolf skulls are also available, substituting for all symbols in the game.

Two forms of enhanced wilds are also available, with xSplit wilds splitting symbols either in their row or in their reel into two, causing them to payout prizes with x2 multipliers for their individual symbol.

Finally, scatters appear as guts in between the symbols that appear on the grid, allowing them to not take up space on the reel set. These scatters are attributed to the game’s progressive blood points meter.

THE DETAILS

This game uses cascading wins, meaning that symbols in a winning combination will disappear after providing their payout to make way for new symbols to drop in from above the reels.

As wins are formed in this game, a blood meter is active underneath the reel set. Landing medium and high value symbols in a winning combination will apply one and two blood points respectively to this meter, while scatter symbols will apply 10 blood points to the meter.

Filling this meter with 20 blood points after a single spin will activate the first bonus feature of the game mode, with five features available in total as the player collects further blood points to continue filling the meter.

However, high value variants of the medium value symbols can only be unlocked one-by-one as each blood point feature is activated. Each time a high value symbol is unlocked, its low value counterpart, the sketch symbol that matches its creature, will be removed from play.

Collecting 20 blood points will trigger the candle spins feature, awarding two respins in which the high value crows will become unlocked and their sketch symbol counterpart will disappear from the reels.

The meter resets with each feature, and players must collect at least an extra ten blood points each time they want to advance to the next set of candle spins.

After activating the first set of candle spins by collecting 20 blood points, players will then have to collect 30 additional blood points to achieve an extra two candle spins. This unlocks the high value snake symbol and removes the snake sketch symbol.

To unlock the third, fourth and fifth features where high value ram, wolf and shadow character symbols are unlocked, players must collect 40, 60 and 80 blood points respectively.

Each unlocked level awards two candle spins until the fourth level is reached and the high value wolf is unlocked, as reaching the final fifth level will award six ‘reign of terror’ free spins. Only high value symbols can appear in this feature.

When each feature is unlocked, a guaranteed wild symbol will be unlocked below the reel set. This wild symbol will become active for the next candle spin, while expanding the reels by one symbol for the duration of the candle spins feature.

As more candle spin levels become unlocked, more wilds will be revealed below the reels and the board will continue to increase, along with the number of ways to win.

Each wild that does appear in any of these bonus features will remain on the reels until it forms part of a win, or until no wins can be formed and the blood meter remains incomplete.

Furthermore, players can buy access to different levels on the blood meter feature, each for the price of a significantly increased bet.

WHAT THEY SAY

Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, commented: “Shadow girl has come a long way over this past year, so much so we had to bring her back into the light! We’ve taken what players know and love from Blood & Shadow and added some new features that we think players will enjoy.

“The addition of xSplit in the base game and that bottom locked row, really gets the blood pumping.”
