THE SYMBOLS
Crystal Catcher’s low value symbols are represented by purple, blue and green coloured gems. Landing five or more adjacent symbols horizontally or vertically will cause these symbols to offer between x0.2 and x12.5 the player’s wager.
Pink and orange gems are the game’s medium value symbols, offering x0.5 and x50 the player’s bet depending on what combinations land on the reels.
The game’s high value symbol is a red gem, which offers x2 to x100 the player’s stake depending on the combinations on the reels.
Crystal Catcher also includes two non-paying symbols – a crystal and a bonus crystal – as well as two wild symbols, a beetle and a gold beetle. The wild gold beetle can help players achieve cascading wins.
The wild substitutes for all other symbols except for the crystal and bonus crystal. It also always has an x1 multiplier associated with it.
Instant prize symbols are also part of the game as a bet multiplier, which can be obtained when a wild beetle flies over to the symbol. Instant prize symbols can have values of x1, x2, x3, x5, x10, x20, x30, x50, x100, x200, x300 and x500.
When either an instant prize, crystal or bonus crystal is on the reels at the same time as a wild, the game’s Crystal Catcher feature is activated.
THE DETAILS
During the Crystal Catcher feature, whenever a wild beetle flies and collects an instant prize, crystal or bonus crystal, the wild’s multiplier will increase by one while a gold beetle will be left behind. Each gold beetle will also have a respective multiplier from the flying beetle.
If more than one instant prize, crystal or bonus crystal is present on the reels, a gold beetle will be left behind every time the beetle takes flight. If a beetle collects a bonus crystal, seven free spins will be awarded to the player.
During the free spins, the wild beetle multiplier will increase by one for each crystal or instant prize collected, leaving behind a golden beetle with the respective multiplier every time it takes flight.
Beetles will stay in place when a collapse or cascade occurs, and golden beetles will cascade off at the start of every free spin.
Two bonus buy options are available to players. One will feature a wild beetle symbol for x75 the player’s stake, while the other will feature a wild beetle with increased odds for more crystals, instant prizes and three higher-paying symbols for x275 the player’s bet.
The game also has an Ante Bet made which increases a player’s base bet by 20 per cent for a higher chance of a wild beetle landing to trigger the free spins feature.
