During the base game, when three or more scatter symbols land, the bonus game is triggered with a minimum of three scatters awarding eight free spins and five providing 20 spins.
Before the round commences, one symbol is randomly selected from a book to be a special expanding symbol. In free spins, special symbols expand to cover reels after normal wins have been awarded. Special symbols only expand when a win can be completed, though it helps that they pay from any reel, do not need to be adjacent, or start at the first reel.
