THE SYMBOLS
Low value symbols come in the form of fish hooks, lightning bolts, speech bubbles, cubes and love hearts. These symbols can offer between x0.1 and x100 the player’s wager, depending on the number of identical symbols that land in a winning cluster.
Moving up the paytable, fish bones, beers, mushrooms, ice lollies and sharks depict the high value symbols, offering wins between x0.3 and x500 the player’s bet.
Octopus eye symbols can land on the reels, performing a special ‘tenta-grab’ feature if any wins have occurred on the same spin.
Two free spins scatters are also available, with standard ‘FS’ symbols appearing in black and epic ‘FS’ symbols appearing in yellow.
Landing three standard scatters on the same spin will activate the ‘eighth arm is the charm’ game mode, while three epic scatters activate the ‘give me eight!’ game mode.
Wild W symbols can land on the reels, substituting for all symbols other than octopus eyes and free spins scatters. Additionally, these wilds can appear with multipliers of up to x10 that will be applied to all wins they contribute to.
THE DETAILS
Wins are formed in this title when five or more identical symbols land in adjacent clusters. Symbols can payout prizes for anywhere between five and 26 or more symbols landing in the same cluster.
Cascading wins also feature in this title, with winning symbols disappearing from the board after providing their payouts. This makes way for new symbols to drop in from the top of the reels.
Furthermore, each symbol that disappears after providing a win will leave an ink mark on the cell it originally appeared in. These cells will contribute to the tenta-grab feature if the octopus eye is also on the reels. However, in the base game, each ink mark will disappear in between spins.
With this feature, the octopus symbol will reach out and grab one random symbol on the reels, before causing all symbols that appear in ink-marked cells to transform into the grabbed symbol. This increases the win potential significantly.
In the eighth arm is the charm game mode, ink mark cells will not disappear in between spins unless the tenta-grab feature has occurred. With the give me eight! feature, the octopus can only grab wild symbols or wild multipliers.
For both features, the number of FS scatters that landed on the reels will equal the number of awarded spins. Each time three or more scatters land on the same free spin, an extra spin will be awarded.
