Low value symbols are represented by playing card royals, from Jack through to Ace. These symbols can offer between x0.1 and x1 the player’s stake, depending on the number of winning combinations that land on a single spin.
Next up, flagons of ale, shields and battleaxes depict the medium value symbols, offering between x0.5 and x4 the player’s preferred bet.
High value symbols come in the form of viking helmets. If the right number of winning combinations appear at once, these symbols can offer between x2 and x10.
Gold coins can appear displaying monetary values between x1 and x100 the player’s stake, as well as being able to display jackpot values of mini (x20), minor (x50), major (x500) or grand (x5,000) values.
Wild boats are also available on reel five, substituting for all symbols other than scatters and gold coins. When wild symbols appear on the same spin as gold coins, they will award the gold coin values to the player’s payout.
Finally, scatter text symbols can appear on reels one, three and five, triggering either eight, 10, 15 or 20 free spins if three scatters land on the same spin.

Throughout the base game, a ‘kraken reels’ feature can be randomly activated. This expands the reels by up to five symbols high to award one free respin with a higher win potential.
In the free spins game mode, the reel set can expand up to eight symbols high, creating a maximum reel set size of 5×8.
Each extra reel that the board expands to will result in an additional five paylines being in play, signalling a maximum payline number of 45 for a 5×8 board.
When a wild symbol drops into the fifth reel, it will move one reel to the left on each subsequent spin until it reaches the first reel, collecting all gold coin values on the way.
If these travelling wild symbols reach the first reel then a ‘ride the storm’ feature can be triggered, sending the wild back to the fifth reel.
When activating the free spins game mode, players must select from either a male or female viking icon. These vikings will then reveal four gold coins while randomly awarding either eight, 10, 15 or 20 free spins.
The game also provides players with the opportunity to buy access to the free spins feature for the price of x50 their stake.
