Book symbols are used for the scatter in this title, triggering the free spins game mode if three or more land on the reels at once.
Before the free spins feature begins, the compass hold & respin game mode will be presented. The compass of Tortuga will choose how many free spins are to be awarded to the player, in addition to selecting how many bonus features will be guaranteed to land in the game mode.
Players are initially awarded three respins with the respin counter resetting to three with every compass symbol that lands on the reels. Once these spins are over, the player will be awarded a subsequent amount of turns for the main free spins game.
Once this free spins feature begins, bonus symbols are no longer evaluated along paylines, but are instead stamped onto the entire reel and evaluated with any gaps between paylines ignored.
