A UK-based slot enthusiast has won over £15 million from just one 80p spin, marking not only a record win for a 32Red player, but also across the Kindred Group – the brand’s parent company.

The player, dubbed Mr M, won a total of £15,183,085.96 on the first-ever ‘MicroGaming Book of Atem: WowPot’ title and the eight-figure sum was transferred to the winner’s bank account within 48 hours.

Neil Banbury, UK general manager of Kindred Group, commented: “We were delighted to see Mr M win 32Red.com’s biggest ever WowPot jackpot, taking home over £15 million on Book of Atem: WowPot. He has become a multi-millionaire overnight and can look forward to treating his friends and family in the future, truly incredible!

“We are proud to offer safe and fun experiences for all our customers and put safer gambling at the heart of all of everything we do to make sure gambling always remains fun for players. Our Jackpots can be won by anyone as Mr M’s found out with his life-changing win from a single 80p spin.”

In addition to going down as a record for the betting brand, the figure also marks the largest WowPot victory of all time.

“When I won, I had to Google how many zeros make up a million – just to be doubly sure! I just sat and looked at the screen for ages. It’s still sinking in,” the lucky winner, Mr M, said.

“My family have worked hard all their lives, so we are going to buy both our parents new houses. I’ve got my eye on a vintage car too! It’s a really humbling experience and it’s difficult to put into words how lucky I feel and thankful I am.”

Earlier this year, the Kindred Group became the first gambling operator ever to report its share of revenue derived from harmful gambling, as well as a measurement of its model in place to reduce it.

The data revealed that 96 per cent of Kindred’s gambling revenue is derived from players betting safely and sustainably – with four per cent of revenue coming from ‘high-risk’ players.

Erik Backlund, chief product officer at Kindred Group, added: “This WowPot jackpot was first launched in February 2020 and has been building in size and popularity. We’ve been on the edge of our seats for a long time now, waiting for this huge jackpot to be won – and now it has!

“It feels like the entire company is celebrating with this lucky person! Now this WowPot jackpot has been won, we’re back to being on the edge of our seats to see who wins the Mega Moolah jackpot, which currently sits at more than £15 million!”
