BetComply has entered into a strategic partnership with Solidicon to aid the game studio’s expansion into new regulated markets.
To begin with, BetComply has helped the Gothenburg-based studio secure a B2B licence in its home country of Sweden.
As a result, Solidicon will now be able to offer its portfolio of games, including titles such as Navigator and Swiminator, to Swedish-licensed operators.
Mike de Graaff, Chief Compliance Officer at BetComply, commented: “We’ve seen a growing number of regulators introduce supplier licences over the last few years. The trend is only going to continue, so it has never been more important for games studios to get their ducks in a row and stay ahead of regulatory requirements. We’ll be working closely with Solidicon to achieve just that.”
Sweden’s regulator, Spelinspektionen, first introduced the need for a B2B licence in 2023, following a trend observed across Europe.
Malta, Sweden, Greece, Romania, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany all require B2B iGaming providers to obtain a local licence before supplying gaming software or platform to licensed operators.
Elsewhere, other countries, such as Italy, Spain, Denmark and Portugal, require providers to meet technical and regulatory compliance standards to operate legally.
“BetComply’s support and hands-on expertise made the process far smoother than we expected, and we look forward to working with their team both in Sweden and other markets going forward,” said Richard Rydell, COO of Solidicon.
“Gaining a Swedish B2B licence is an important step as we look to expand our footprint in regulated markets.”
