Big Daddy Gaming, the new slot studio launched by former Relax Gaming executives, has secured a gaming software supplier licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) — marking a significant milestone in its European expansion strategy.
The approval grants Big Daddy Gaming the right to distribute its slot content to Sweden’s regulated operators, in full compliance with the country’s mandatory B2B licensing regime for gambling software, introduced on 1 July 2023.
The framework requires all suppliers providing games or critical services to hold SGA approval, a measure designed to strengthen player protection and prevent unlicensed content from entering the market.
With certification confirmed, Big Daddy Gaming will begin supplying its content to Swedish-licensed operators in Q4 2025, with its first partnership deals expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The move marks the next step in the studio’s ambition to scale across Europe’s regulated markets under its guiding philosophy, “Reel Fun. Real Value.”
Erland Hellström, CEO of Big Daddy Gaming, said the Swedish licence was an important validation of the company’s technical and compliance standards: “Getting the SGA licence is a pivotal affirmation of our compliance standards and technical capabilities. Sweden is a vital market in our growth plan, and with this authorisation, we can rapidly begin servicing our operator partners there. We aim to deliver content that adds Real Value to their bottom line and authentic Reel Fun for Swedish players.”
Founded earlier this year by Hellström, Simon Hammon, and Daniel Eskola, Big Daddy Gaming has positioned itself as a challenger studio intent on disrupting traditional slot supply models. The company is backed by iGaming investment fund Castech and supported by board member Toni Kolehmainen, with the leadership team bringing extensive experience from Relax Gaming’s transformation into Kindred Group’s core B2B division.
The founders have spoken of their mission to reinvigorate creativity and commercial fairness across iGaming’s supply chain. Big Daddy aims to deliver high-quality, performance-led content that balances engaging design with measurable operator value, supported by new commercial models that favour sustainability and transparency.
The studio’s first titles — already tested with tier-one brands during its pre-launch phase — are described as combining humour, bold themes, and strong mathematical depth. Big Daddy is also in the process of securing a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence, which will further expand its access to Europe’s regulated markets.
