The inaugural edition of the event takes place at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami on October 27-28, 2021, when decision makers from across the Latin American betting and gaming industry will gather in Florida for a high-level conference, exhibition, and the SBC Awards Latinoamérica.
It features a conference agenda that focuses on the key issues facing the industry, such as how to approach newly-regulated markets in the Americas, the relationship between professional sports and betting, the future of lotteries, the latest payments technology, and effective localized marketing strategies.
To provide expert insights on those topics from an operator perspective, the speakers will include JD Duarte (CEO, Betcris), Xabier Rodriguez-Maribona (CEO, Grupo Retabet), Crispin Nieboer (group director – corporate development and strategy, William Hill), Martin Lycka (SVP for American Regulatory Affairs and Responsible Gambling, Entain), and Mattias Stetz (COO, Rush Street Interactive).
Alberto D’Angelo (CEO, La Tinka) and Lourdes Britto (director of omnichannel strategy, Apuesta Total) will share their insights on the market in Peru, while the Brazilian industry experts taking part include Andre Gelfi (managing partner Brazil, Betsson) and Alex Fonseca (country manager – Brazil, Kaizen Gaming).
The speaker roster also has an emphasis on legal and regulatory expertise, with Gustavo Guimarães (secretary, SECAP), Orlando Rivera (executive director, Puerto Rico Gaming Commission), and Sérgio Garcia Alves (chair of the gambling law committee, Brazilian Bar Association) among the participants.
Contributing perspectives from the wider industry ecosystem will be Pedro Melo (CCO, Atlético Mineiro), Rodrigo Cigliutti (executive director, Cibelae), Evert Montero Cardenas (president, Fecoljuegos), Patrick O’Neill (CEO, Sherlock Communications), Ramiro Atucha (CEO, Vibra Gaming), Leo Baptista (CEO, Pay4Fun), Victor Arias (VP LatAm, Pragmatic Play) and Karen Sierra-Hughes (VP of Latin America & Caribbean, GLI).
Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, said: “Our international events are renowned for the depth of the agendas and the strength of the speaker lineups, and we wanted to ensure that we delivered that for our first in-person event dedicated to markets across Latin America.
“We’re delighted that we will be joined in Miami by some of the most influential executives from the region’s leading betting and gaming operators, along with regulators, trade associations, professional sports organisations, and product experts. And there are many more big names to come, as we announce a further 80 speakers in the coming weeks.”
Delegates attending SBC Summit Latinoamérica can also take in an exhibition featuring 20 leading suppliers and a selection of evening networking events, including the ceremony for the SBC Awards Latinoamérica on October 28.
The Awards, which feature 29 categories, celebrate the best-performing operators, affiliates, and product and service suppliers in Latin American markets.
