Yggdrasil has signalled its intention to continue offering slots in the Danish market after securing a B2B licence from Spillemyndigheden, the nation’s gambling regulator.

Having obtained the licence, Yggdrasil will be able to continue providing its catalogue of in-house slot releases to online casino operators in Denmark following the new licensing legislation that came into force on 1 January.

The legislation requires all igaming suppliers operating within Denmark’s gaming market to obtain the appropriate license to do so, with Spillemyndigheden handing out permits to applying companies.

Jose Simon, Chief Commercial Officer at Yggdrasil, commented: “We are thrilled to kick-start 2025 with such positive news as Yggdrasil continues to further showcase its presence in key regulated markets worldwide.

“As a brand with proud Scandinavian roots, we are extremely proud and wholly committed to continuing to offer Danish operators and their player base top gaming content of the highest quality.”

While Yggdrasil has been active in the Danish market since 2017, achieving this licence will see the firm continue to build the presence of its slot releases in the market until 2029.

The igaming provider praised the Danish market as a ‘key market’ where its catalogue of slot content ‘resonates well with local players’.

Through the move, Yggdrasil joins the likes of Wazdan and Leap Gaming in gaining certification to continue operating in the Danish market, with several other igaming suppliers set to follow suit.
