Yggdrasil has created a new house-of-brands programme to back game studios, brands and creators called YGG Champions, helping them achieve title and marketing targets.

YGG Champions will be the home of Yggdrasil-backed partners, allowing each studio to operate with its ‘own voice, product philosophy, creative direction and relationship with players and operators’.

Brands will be offered structured support by Yggdrasil, including investment, production expertise, platform access, commercial network and selected technology support.

Tomasz Kowalik, Managing & Product Director at Yggdrasil, commented: “Great creative brands are built around clear audiences and strong identities.

“YGG Champions allows specialist studios to stay true to their own creative vision while benefiting from Yggdrasil’s technology, operational support, publishing strength and distribution scale. The goal is not to create sub-brands of Yggdrasil, but to enable distinctive brands to grow on their own terms.”

Three studios will be part of the initial YGG Champions launch – Suits & Royals, Slightly Edgy and Fish & Chips. Suits & Royals has already launched its first title – Dealer’s Choice: Poker Edition.

Every YGG Champions partner will also be able to utilise Yggdrasil’s Game in a Box tool to gain access to development infrastructure, allowing them to focus on game design, mechanics, themes and player experience.
