Big Time Gaming has claimed our Slot of the Week with its latest slot title Star Cluster which showcases its new Megaclusters game engine.

The game is scheduled to launch, alongside its ‘never-before-seen’ Megaclusters mechanic, exclusively with Scientific Games Digital on June 24 before going live on the same date with Flutter Entertainment group of brands that includes Paddy Power, Betfair, PokerStars, and SkyVegas.

Star Clusters is a cluster pays format slot with a nostalgic Bejeweled look. This 4×4 grid with 16 tiles can break into a maximum of 64 tiles during Star Cluster’s Megaclusters mode.

Big Time Gaming CEO Nick Robinson, said: “We believe that Megacluster is quite literally a game changer in the online casino space and we’re delighted that it’s received a great reception from reviewers. Expect to see this mechanic feature in more BTG games in the future.”

The symbols in this game consist of various gems which are aqua, yellow, orange, green, blue, red and purple which can offer up to 50x the original stake. The two wild symbols, a regular wild and a special gold wild, help pull clusters together.

Star Cluster differs from traditional slots of its kind. With the Megaclusters mechanic, each symbol that forms part of a winning combo will split into four smaller symbols to create even more Megaclusters.

Additionally when combo’s appear within these smaller symbols, they explode and new tiles fall into place until the combo dries up.

The Free Spin round is triggered when five or more reactions occur simultaneously in the base game. Two free spins are awarded to the player with one spin further awarded for any extra reaction. During this round the grid expands to an 8×8 grid.

Dylan Slaney, SVP Gaming, Digital at Scientific Games, added: “This is an exciting new development that once again brings breakthrough player experiences from our OpenGaming ecosystem.

“What I love about BTG’s games is their ability to redesign a classic by using rich layers of technology to create something diverting and unexpected. That’s really evident in Star Clusters and it’s a thrill to bring the global launch of this new Megaclusters mechanic as an exclusive first on OGS.”
