SYNOT Games took players into the wilderness of a jungle filled with tree frogs, toucans and big cats in its latest roaring slot Forest Maiden, which showcased an enhanced hold-and-win feature to grab our Slot of the Week award.
With players hoping to activate the bonus-filled hold-and-win game mode, Forest Maiden presents a 5×3 reel grid that uses 25-paylines to offer wins of up to x2,000 the player’s wager. While using an RTP of 96.02 per cent, the jungle-themed slot has medium volatility.
Commenting on the studio’s latest release, Michael Polák, Lead Games Producer at SYNOT Games, stated: “Forest Maiden is another game featuring the hold-and-win feature. These concepts have proven successful across all markets, prompting us to continue with another game incorporating this feature. What sets this game apart is the introduction of the repeat symbol, a novelty in our concepts.
“The hold-and-win feature is triggered by six or more symbols, and in addition to the repeat symbol, the game also retains increasing and expanding symbols. Of course, the game includes four jackpot levels, and the repeat symbol introduces a new twist – the possibility for a player to win the grand jackpot twice in a single bonus, a unique feature in these concepts.”
Low value symbols are depicted as playing card royals, with Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces. If the right number of matching combinations land on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x0.2 and x2 the chosen bet.
Topping the paytable, tree frogs, toucans, snakes and panthers represent the high value symbols, offering between x0.2 and x8 the player’s preferred stake.
Wild carnival dancer symbols can drop into play, substituting for all symbols in the game other than bonus orb symbols. Landing three, four or five wilds on a winning payline will provide x1, x2 or x8 the chosen wager, respectively.
Bonus orb symbols display monetary values between x1 and x18 the player’s bet, or jackpot values of mini (x20), minor (x50) or major (x200). Landing six orbs on the same base game spin will activate the hold-and-win game mode.
In this hold-and-win game mode, players are given three spins to land as many bonus orb symbols on an empty reel set as possible. Each orb symbol that does drop into play will reset the number of spins to three.
Once all three spins have been completed, players will receive the accumulated value of all prize and jackpot values displayed on the orbs that dropped into play.
Additionally, the game’s grand jackpot prize of x500 will be awarded when all 15 spaces on the reels have been filled with orb symbols.
Two special orb symbols can appear in the hold-and-win feature, with special expanding orb symbols filling entire reels while adding their value to every other orb symbol on the board.
Furthermore, repeating bonus orb symbols can drop into play, collecting all values from other orbs on the reels as the three hold-and-win spins come to an end, before resetting the counter to three spins again.
Special increasing orb symbols will not expand on the reels, but will add their value to every other orb symbol present.
Polák added: “The game boasts stunning graphics, utilising 3D models of animals found in the Amazon rainforest. The central figure is a beautiful woman from the jungle, appearing as a full character as well.
“The use of the 3D style allowed us to create captivating animations for all the animals. Players can anticipate a high frequency of features in the game, making it exceptionally entertaining.”
