THE PITCH

Habanero’s new title, Scopa, puts an innovative twist on one of Italy’s most popular card games of the same name.

Dating back to the 18th century, Scopa (meaning broom) awards points for those who ‘sweep’ the table by matching another player’s card. The game has been lifted from the table into the virtual word on a 3-4-3 grid featuring original characters and an authentic soundtrack, guiding its customers through some of the country’s most-loved cultural capitals.

THE DETAILS

The slot emcompasses the traditonal game with all symbols on the screen being winning symbols, meaning that paylines are not necessary. A $1.50 bet can see a player win from $0.30 (by matching three low price symbols) to $25 (five king symbols) before any multipliers are added.

The game also features special cards, such as Wild cards, which can substitute for any random symbol, and Scatter cards. The latter can do a multitude of things, which includes paying out if three of the same scatter card is matched, such as multiplying total bets and allowing free games.

During the free spins round, Habanero’s revamp of the classic table fixture departs on an immersive journey through the nation’s historic regions. These stops, which include Genoa, Milan, Naples, Tuscany and Venice, are intended to acknowledge the game’s origin with each city also adding a special feature to the slot.

WHAT THEY SAY

Commenting on the launch, Arcangelo Lonoce, head of business development Europe at Habanero stated: “We are delighted to release the immersive hit Scopa across our operator network, and we are proud of what we have achieved in transposing the much-loved card game of the same name into this innovative slot formula.

“We hope that transporting players on a memorable exploration of Italy’s vibrant past while playing its favourite card game will prove to be the perfect hit – and we’re excited to be bringing it to our players in Italy and the world over.”
