Big Time Gaming: How Megapays is filling the gap in the market

The big question on the lips of Nik Robinson, CEO of Big Time Gaming is ‘can the industry have a single Jackpot System that is linked across all markets?’

Following the launch of its latest Megapays jackpot mechanic, in collaboration with Relax Gaming, we caught up with the BTG CEO who explained that the new mechanism is a Jackpot Network that is ‘built for independent providers and Megaways partners to plug into’.

Walking us through the new mechanic, Robinson confirmed that Megapays is a linked Jackpot system that pools across multiple operators, including the likes of Unibet, LeoVegas, Betsson, Flutter and Entain

He said: “Megapays fills a need in the marketplace for independent slot developers to have a Jackpot Network that they can plug into with ease. For many years, Big Time Gaming looked to partner with providers with jackpots but found them to be either a walled garden or way too complicated from a financial standpoint.

“Megapays is different in the fact it allows small (or large) third-party providers, to plug in their players favourite games without the complication of Jackpot settlement, banking compliance and payments, it is now, with Megapays as simple as deploying a game.”

Commenting on BTG’s working relationship with Relax Gaming throughout the development process, Robinson praised its continued collaboration as ‘always effortless’.

“Although this was a much larger undertaking than creating just another game, as we had to set up the Jackpot Network and banking services to guarantee the jackpots can be paid to players instantly from any operational partner,” said the Big Time Gaming CEO.

“The real beauty of working with Relax is now any provider can plug a game into the Megapays framework by adding a simple API call to their games which is going to grow the liquidity on a whole new level.

“Our first game had to be Bonanza Megapays, which is much the same as the original worldwide smash hit, albeit graphically updated. It’s already building the jackpots and paying out midi and minis every few minutes, and the Mega Jackpot has grown 33 per cent within the first few days.”

On its launch, Megapays was said to bring ‘new dimensions’ to its titles. Delving into this further, Robinson expressed that the ‘real beauty’ of Megapays is that any slots provider can take one of its most successful titles and plug it directly into the Megapays Jackpot Network, with liquidity growing with every game added.

He continued: “We are expecting many Megaways partners to jump into the Megapays Jackpot Network to raise the level of liquidity to the point where we will be paying out weekly Mega Jackpots that can frequently rise above €1m.”

Comparing the mechanic to Big Time Gaming’s already industry renowned Megaways IP, Robinson stressed that Megapays, just like its predecessor, will be a ‘continuous work in progress’.

He concluded: “If we do manage to achieve a multi-customer, multi-partner, multi-jurisdictional Jackpot System, then it will most certainly be the biggest Jackpot System on the internet with a possibility to deliver players life-changing wins everyday.”

Bonanza was the first title to introduce the Megapays mechanic with future titles – such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Danger High Voltage – joining the ranks. Additionally, Relax Gaming’s Money Train 2 is set to introduce the mechanic, along with a host of Relax Silver Bullet Partners which are ready to deploy their top slots into the Megapays Jackpot Network.
