Spinmatic, Kalamba Games, Scientific Games & BGaming: February SOTW

The first Slot of the Week award for February went to Spinmatic Entertainment with a trip to the underworld in World of Gods Niflheim.

A five-reel, 10-payline slot makes players walk the path of the Niflheim, accompanied by Mighty Hel, to uncover stacked and random wilds, along with five different free spins.

Commenting on its official LinkedIn page, the company noted: “Spinmatic takes you to the gods’ world. A new game is out! In this journey, you will see scary vicinities and everything.

However, don’t worry, The Mighty Hel will be accompanying you with her crows. Moreover, she will reward your encouragement with her special power prizes.”

As part of the game, the Hel symbol is the stacked wild symbol. She appears fully or partially on the screen. When appearing as a full symbol, she awards the player two random wilds.

Moreover, when all five rune symbols appear anywhere on the screen at the same time, the Bonus game is triggered. This round consists of 15 undefined runes which the player chooses at random. When three of the same Rune symbols are found, free spins are rewarded, depending on the runes.

Additionally, the Jera free spins can occur which guarantees random wilds. During this mode, the Hel symbol turns into a Wild and nudges down or up while giving two wilds. Furthermore, during the Ansuz free spins round, low paying symbols are dropped from the reels.

If that wasn’t enough, the title also comes with a Dagaz free spins feature. Once activated, all low paying symbols turn into its corresponding high paying symbol. The Tiwaz free spins mode includes multipliers. In each round, if a win occurs then it is multiplied. Each winning round multiplier is increased by one.

The final free spins round is the Perthro Free Spins. During this mode, the Hel symbol becomes Wild and stays sticky in the third reel. Further random wilds may appear during spins.

Up next, Scientific Games claimed its second Slot of the Week accolade for 2021 as it took players to the era of Ancient Rome to go toe-to-toe with legendary Gladiators

Spartacus Super Colossal Reels includes the Super Colossal Reels mechanic which features a 5×4 reel set, as well as a Super Colossal 5×12 reel set where reel five is double the size and includes multiplier symbols up to x50 that are applied when in a winning combination.

Before the reel spin initiates, some Spartacus symbols on reels one to four of the main reel set may be replaced with Super Spartacus.

A respin is awarded whenever a Super Spartacus wild transfer occurs. The originating spin is evaluated, and Super Spartacus becomes Spartacus and is held in place for one respin. If further Super Spartacus symbol stacks appear in the respin, another respin is awarded.

Mega wilds are oversized Spartacus or Super Spartacus symbols that are two reels in width. Before the reel spin commences, mega wild symbols may spin over two adjacent reels on reels one to four of the main reel set. Mega wilds observe the same rules as normal Wilds in regard to transfers and respins.

Up next saw SlotBeats delve into Kalamba Games’ 60s extra-terrestrial mystery-themed title Agent 51, labelling it as SOTW.

Channelling its inner Roswell, Agent 51 is a 5×3, 20-payline video slot which incorporates the titles K-Loop feature and free spin modes to gain additional entertainment elements.

Commenting on the launch of the title, Alex Cohen, COO and co-founder of Kalamba Games, noted: “Agent 51 is a galaxy of fun – our much-loved features and the cool, classic theme makes for an amazing new sci-fi thriller.

“It promises to be an exciting launch and players will be able to indulge themselves in an innovative gaming experience while hunting elusive aliens. The loot is out there.”

During the base game, whenever the accumulation symbol appears on the reels, a symbol is activated on the collection meter.

On every tenth spin within the base game, all the active symbols in the collection meter become the special expanding symbols. For each of these symbols that are active, the special expanding symbol expands to cover all positions on the column on which it landed, as long as the expansion creates at least one winning combination.

If the player lands three or more wild symbols, it will trigger the free spins round which awards the player with eight spins.

Concluding February, BGaming also claimed its second Slot of the Week as it dazzled SlotBeats with its Four Lucky Diamonds

A 5×3 video slot which includes 10-paylines along with stacked wilds, which can be replicated, as well as a lucky spins mode.

“It’s the first time for BGaming to use gemstone symbols in its slots. We wanted to make something traditional but with a special charm,” Yulia Aliakseyeva, the project manager at BGaming says. “The game has bright and attractive visual and sound effects.

“Besides great features like Lucky Spins, there is also a very interesting detail in the slot. A player can see possible winning combinations before the reels completely stop.”

Within the bonus feature game, the wild symbol, which is the diamond, substitutes any symbol in a line to complete a winning combination.

Furthermore, within the lucky spins mode, four playable reels become available in case the wins in the main game reach the fourfold size of the bet (or higher).
