Synot, Tom Horn Gaming, Peter & Sons and Stakelogic: December SOTW

Our final round-up of 2021 looks back at the Slot of the Week awards provided throughout the conclusion of the year.

Synot Games was the first to reign supreme with its Aztec Jaguar title fighting off the competitors to claim our SOTW as its riches.

Featuring an RTP of 96 per cent, Aztec Jaguar is a 5×3, 25-payline slot which incorporates various features, such as free spins, wild and bonus symbols which aid players triggering a Hold & Win feature. Moreover, the title can award a maximum of €110,000 on one single spin.

Within the slot, the wild symbol – a man with a jaguar head mask – substitutes for all symbols except the bonus and free spins symbol. During the base game and free spins, the bonus symbols can hold the value from x1 to x20 the bet or a special win awarded to the paytable.

Moreover, when six or more bonus symbols trigger anywhere on the reel, the hold and win feature forms three initial respins. The bonus symbols that triggered the feature remain in place, and if any new bonus symbols appear, they will remain in place and the respin count will be set to three.

Up next is a slot title worthy of a place in Valhalla with Peter & Sons, in collaboration with Yggdrasil, recent title Valkyries flew in to claim Slot of the Week.

A 5×3, 10-payline slot, the Norse-themed slot re-tells Richard Wagner’s renowned opera – Rise of the Valkyries – and follows the story of the Valkyries welcoming fallen heroes from the battlefield into Valhalla.

“We constantly strive to create superior and unique gaming experiences for players, and we genuinely believe we’ve hit the high notes with Valkyries,” noted Yann Bautista, business development manager at Peter & Sons.

“With a unique theme, wonderful visuals and some really exciting features, which can see players win more than 20,000x their bet, what’s not to love?”

Within the base game, dropping wilds – the Norse helmets – can randomly appear on any reel. These wilds substitute for any other symbol, except the scatter. The scatter symbol is the bonus symbol. Two of these trigger the power reel which in turn activates the wild respins.

Commenting on the partnership with Peter & Sons, Stuart McCarthy, head of product and programmes at Yggdrasil, stated: “Despite being a relatively new studio Peter & Sons have already carved out a solid reputation for themselves, creating some of the most memorable online slots we’ve ever seen.

“Their enthusiasm for developing beautifully-designed games with truly engaging features really shines through, and there’s no better example of this than Valkyries.”

The third title of the month to be awarded SOTW comes in the form of Stakelogic’s Ancient Egyptian game entitled Pyramid Strike.

With an RTP of 95.80 per cent and two volatility levels to choose from, this 5×3, 20-payline video slot incorporates a Super Stake mechanic which allows players to increase their initial bet to improve their chances of landing the main bonus feature.

“The legends of Ancient Egypt have always been a popular theme for software providers to explore, and we’re very happy to present a new take on the genre in our Pyramid Strike slot,” stated Olga Bajela, CCO at Stakelogic.

“Featuring Stakelogic’s signature Super Stake mode and an innovative new bonus mechanic that awards huge cash prizes, we’re sure players are going to love taking it for a spin.”

Tom Horn Gaming has closed the curtain on the year claiming our final Slot of the Week award with its latest title Frutopia.

With an RTP between 92 and 96 per cent and a high volatility level implemented within gameplay, the cosmic-themed title brings a twist to a classic fruit game genre.

Moreover, this three-reel video slot also comes with up to 125 ways to win and a maximum win potential of up to x3,190 the bet.

“Frutopia is a perfectly paced slot game with a refined math model that keeps players on the tenterhooks throughout the game,” commented Ondrej Lapides, CEO at Tom Horn Gaming. “With high-level captivating graphics, combined with an immersive soundscape, the game is a perfect way to see out the year.

“We believe players will love this game as soon as they get a taste of its gripping gameplay and features that can see them win up to x3,190 their stake.”
