IGT has been awarded the new iCAP Ready accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling, becoming the first igaming firm to achieve this recognition.
iCAP (Internet Compliance Assessment Program) Ready certifies that gaming companies uphold the highest levels of responsible gaming standards in their operations.
The new supplier-specific accreditation is based on the original iCAP that was designed for gaming operators, and which has been achieved by the likes of Jackpocket, Jackpot.com, several US state lotteries and Tipico Sportsbook.
Supported by the NCPG, iCAP Ready utilises best practices from the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards to ensure that suppliers implement and maintain responsible gambling policies, provide effective staff training and offer comprehensive player support tools. As part of the process, gaming companies’ responsible gaming policies and practices are audited by an independent agency and an overall compliance assessment is performed by a third party on behalf of NCPG.
“We applaud IGT for leading the way as the first recipient of the iCAP Ready accreditation,” said NCPG Executive Director Keith Whyte. “This achievement showcases IGT’s leadership and demonstrates that suppliers play a crucial role in ensuring player protections and promoting responsible play.”
IGT SVP of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, Wendy Montgomery, added that the fact IGT is the first industry supplier to achieve the iCAP Ready certification for its iLottery business is a testament to its commitment to responsible gambling.
“With Advancing Responsibility as a core pillar of IGT’s Sustainable Play program, we aim to meet and exceed responsible gaming standards as a trusted supplier to ensure that our customers are provided with the necessary tools to keep their players safe and promote positive play,” she added.
