SBC Summit Barcelona to mark return of major betting and igaming industry events

SBC Summit Barcelona will mark the long-awaited return of major international business events for the sports betting and igaming industry.

Next week’s SBC Summit Barcelona will mark the long-awaited return of major international business events for the sports betting and igaming industry with a high-level conference and exhibition attended by the sector’s major players.

With Barcelona open for large-scale events and free from quarantine requirements for visitors, the 2021 edition of the Global Betting and iGaming Show will go ahead at the Fira Barcelona Montjuic on September 21 – 24 as scheduled.

More than 450 companies from across the industry will be represented at the event, including key decision makers from 200 of the world’s largest sportsbook, online casino and lottery operators.

Delegates will have the chance to view the latest sportsbook, payments and casino technology and games from 100 leading suppliers in the exhibition, along with a programme of product launches and demonstrations on the venue’s Main Stage.

The event also features a high-level conference taking place over five stages, with tracks focused on sports betting, igaming, payments and compliance, safer gambling, marketing, new markets, and innovation.

An additional Main Stage conference agenda will see keynotes and leaders panels on the central theme of how operators can reposition their offerings as a mainstream entertainment product in response to the increasing competition for consumers’ leisure spend.

The 25-strong speaker line-up includes some of the industry’s most influential leaders, such as Jette Nygaard-Andersen (CEO, Entain), Carsten Koerl (CEO, Sportradar), Alberto Eljarrat (CEO, Sportium), Roman Syrotian (co-CEO, Parimatch Tech), Jason Trost (CEO, Smarkets), Paris Smith (CEO, Pinnacle), Allan Auning-Hansen (CEO. CEGO/Spilnu.dk), Ariel Reem (CEO, Genesis Global), Shelly Suter-Hadad (CEO, Casumo), and Fredrik Elmqvist (CEO, Yggdrasil Gaming).

When not in the conference rooms or exhibition, delegates will have multiple opportunities to connect with fellow attendees. The venue has a number of lounges and hospitality areas, while there is a full programme of evening networking events at Terraza Miramar, Pacha Beach Club, and Fabrica Moritz.

Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, said: “People across the industry have told us how excited they are about the return of in-person events and the enhanced learning, networking and business opportunities that they bring.

“To mark the return of major international events, we’ve put together a great show that features our strongest ever speaker line-up, many of the world’s leading suppliers and evening parties at fantastic venues. It’ll be a great opportunity to get up to date with the latest thinking about the future of the industry, view the next generation of products and, of course, finally catch up with colleagues and friends face-to-face.”
