Stake is ready to tango in another Latin American market with the launch of its iGaming platform in Argentina’s Buenos Aires province.
Securing a licence from the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) sees the operator continue its online casino and sports betting expansion across LatAm after establishing a presence in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
The deal also bolsters Stake’s connection with Argentine players, as the platform has been partnered with former Argentina international footballer Sergio Aguero as an ambassador for several years.
Diana Otalora, LatAm General Manager at Stake, commented: “Argentina is an important market for us and a natural next step in our expansion across Latin America.
“There is an incredibly passionate sporting culture, a large and digitally engaged population and strong long-term potential for Stake.”
LatAm Expansion
Stake celebrated its launch in the Buenos Aires province on social media, as well as teasing potential future market expansion in Latin America.
The expansion also comes just in time for the FIFA World Cup football tournament, where Argentina is expected to be one of the favourites to win the competition.
“We’ve continued to build momentum across Latin America in recent years, and this launch reflects our ambition to establish Stake as the leading entertainment brand in the region,” Otalora continued.
“Argentina is a market with energy and identity and we’re excited to bring our world-class sportsbook and casino experience to players through stake.bet.ar.”
Stake enters Mexico
As previously mentioned, Stake’s Buenos Aires province expansion follows its launch in Mexico at the beginning of May, bringing its iGaming operations to the Latin American market.
Stake is operating in the country under a permit-based structure regulated by SEGOB (Ministry of Interior), acting as an agent under Uno Capali’s licence agreement.
Jarrod Febbraio, Stake Director, said at the time: “Mexico is an important and exciting market for us – one that combines strong underlying growth with a deep cultural connection to sport, which aligns perfectly with what Stake is built for.
“We’ve built significant momentum across Latin America in recent years, including in markets such as Peru and Colombia and Mexico represents a natural next step given its scale and long-term potential.
“With Mexico set to co-host the 2026 football World Cup tournament, the timing of this launch reflects our ability to move with precision into high-value markets at the right moment. It gives us the opportunity to establish a strong presence ahead of one of the biggest sporting events in the world and deliver a world-class experience for Mexican players.”
