Earth’s inhabitants are being transformed into alien replicants in Thunderkick’s extraterrestrial slot release, Zap Attack!, which saw ray gun blasts light up the game’s free spins feature with upgrading symbols to claim our latest Slot of the Week award.
In the studio’s latest game, a desert town faces invasion on a 5×5 grid that offers 25-paylines and a maximum win of up to x5,000 the player’s bet. With a progressive free spins game mode to play for, the slot uses high volatility with an RTP of 96.15 per cent.
Mike Collins, Product Owner at Thunderkick, commented: “Welcome to Roswealth! We’re thrilled with our latest release and placing players into the thick of the action in Zap Attack!”
“We’re excited to see players defend the town with expanding multiplier wilds and a fantastic bonus round, and we’re particularly proud of this game’s theme – the spirited design and immersive soundtrack make for an unforgettable experience. Ray guns at the ready.”
Low value symbols come in the form of the high end of a deck of cards, from 10 through to Ace. Blue farmers, purple grandmothers, pink waitresses and yellow sheriffs depict the medium value symbols.
Moreover, alien invaders represent the high value symbols for this game. These symbols can offer between x1 and x10 the player’s bet, depending on the number of paying combinations that appear on a single spin.
Bonus television scatters are also available, triggering seven, 11 or 15 free spins if three, four or five scatters land on the same spin, respectively.
Additionally, wild UFO symbols can drop into play, substituting for all symbols other than the television scatters.
Each wild that drops into play can expand across its reel if it will result in a winning payout, presenting a multiplier of either x2, x3, x4 or x5, which are applied to the win when this occurs.
Two multiplier wilds that contribute to the same payline win will combine their multiplier values together for an enhanced win, with a maximum combined multiplier of x125 (5x5x5).
With the free spins game mode, each high value alien symbol that appears will shoot a ray gun at medium value symbols on the board.
Starting with the yellow sheriff as the medium symbol with the highest value, the alien will shoot these symbols each time they appear on the same spin. Once a medium value symbol has been shot 10 times across different spins, it will be upgraded to the high value alien symbol.
After the yellow sheriff has been converted into an alien, the next aliens will go for the pink waitress, followed by the purple grandmother and then the blue farmer, working their way down the medium value symbols.
Each time a medium value symbol has been shot 10 times to be upgraded into the high value alien, one extra free spin will be provided for the bonus game mode.
While the medium value characters do get transformed into high value alien symbols, only the original alien symbols will be able to perform the upgrading feature.
Transformed alien symbols that cannot perform this enhancement will be represented by features from the character symbols. For example, alien sheriff symbols have moustaches similar to their medium value counterparts.
Furthermore, landing two, three, four or five scatters on the same free spins will award an additional three, five, seven or nine free spins respectively.
