High 5 Games’ dragons and drums clinch Slot of the Week

High 5 Games transported players to the Far East for an array of beat-drumming features in its latest slot 88 Drums, which combined power bets and a loot-link feature to claim our Slot of the Week award.

Using a 5×3 board with 243-ways to win, 88 Drums offers two bonus game modes with players able to win up to x10,100 their stake. While using high volatility with an RTP of 96 per cent, the game also provides the option of two power bet functions.

Lauren Gazneli, Senior Director at High 5 Games, commented: “We’re excited for players to experience our new release, 88 Drums. A pinnacle of gaming innovation, it arrives just in time for Chinese New Year and the Lunar Year festivities.

“88 Drums incorporates traditional Chinese elements and classic features such as wilds and scatters, alongside our distinctive scatter loot link mechanic triggered by green scatters.

“With its unique matrix presenting the chance for jackpots, the game promises to offer an action-packed and dynamic gaming experience.”

Green orb scatters are available, displaying monetary prizes from x0.5 to x25 the player’s bet, or jackpot values of mini (x22.7), minor (x90.90) or major (x454). Landing five or more orbs on the same spin will activate the scatter loot link game mode.

Free spins text scatters can also appear, triggering 10, 15 or 25 free spins when three, four or five scatters land on the same turn.

Furthermore, Drum symbols are included, displaying multiplier values from x2 to x8 the player’s bet. While these drum symbols cannot impact the base game, they will become active in the drum loot link feature.

When wild symbols land on the reels, they are attributed to a gold pot that sits above the reel set. Each time this occurs, there is a chance that the drum loot link game mode will be activated.

In the drum loot link feature, players are given three spins to land as many drum symbols as they can on an empty 5×3 reel set, with each drum that drops into play resetting the number of spins to three.

Each drum symbol appears with a multiplier, representing an increased number of drums that the symbol contains.

Collecting between eight and 88 drum symbols, including the drums counted within each drum symbol’s multiplier value, will provide wins between x9.09 and x10,100 the player’s bet once all three spins have been completed.

Furthermore, players can activate the drum power bet feature in the base game, which increases their stake by 127 per cent to gain a higher chance of activating the drum loot link game mode.

Additionally, activating this power bet function will cause the game mode to provide four spins once activated, rather than the standard three spins.

In the scatter loot link game mode, which is triggered by five or more green orb scatters, players are given three spins to land as many green orbs on an empty 5×3 reel set as possible.

If players manage to land a total of 10 orbs on the board in this feature, a new row will be unlocked, increasing the board size to 6×3. A further four orbs after those 10 will then cause the board to increase to 7×3.

Once all three spins have been completed, players will receive the accumulated value of all green orbs on the reel set, including jackpot values displayed on any orbs.

If players manage to unlock the 7×3 board in this game mode, and then fill it with 25 green orbs, the game’s grand jackpot prize of x10,100 will be awarded.

Moreover, players can activate the scatter power bet feature in the base game, which increases their stake by 127 per cent to allow the game mode to be activated by just four scatters.

As with the drum loot link power bet function, activating the scatter loot link power bet will cause the feature to award four spins instead of the usual three.

In the free spins game mode, all drum symbols will appear with multipliers of x8, enhancing the drum loot link feature if it is activated by wilds during the free spins.
