Less complicated than most slots, Mystic Staxx does not have a bonus game. Instead, players must aim to land Expand tiles in order to grow symbol stacks on each reel. Within the mysterious stacked symbols are hidden awards, revealed during game play.
As the game begins, symbols appear in stacks of two high on all reels while random 3×3 sized expand symbols may also land anywhere on the board. When fully in view, all stacks increase by one extra symbol. Whenever an expand symbol lands, the process repeats until the maximum stack size of 20 is achieved.
Expand symbols transform into a 3×3 sized symbol if a player reaches 20 symbols high on each reel. The big wild tile, just like the regular, can land anywhere on the board substituting for all pay symbols.
