A French slot player has won €2.6m on a slot machine after playing a two-euro coin at the Partouche-owned Saint-Amand-les-Eaux casino in northern France.

The game he was playing, Megapot, is available on 175 slot machines linked up in 38 French casinos run by the Partouche group, according to whom “a total of 31 people have won more than €1m each in the last 10 years. The last big win was more than €1.9m at the Lyon Le Vert Casino in September 2020”.

The €2.6m jackpot was a record for the Saint-Amand-les-Eaux casino across all of the house’s games since it was established in 1973.

The casino commented: “It’s madness, the Megapot fell this evening at Pasino de Saint-Amand on machine 297.”

This comes after a NordicBet player claimed the sum of €6,026,737 on January 2 playing Yggdrasil’s flagship progressive jackpot slot, Joker Millions

Lauding it  a “life changing” win, the Finnish player was spinning the reels of the game on their mobile before triggering the jackpot win.

“We really couldn’t have asked for a better way to herald in the new year, with Joker Millions once again proving hugely lucrative for one lucky player,” commented Stuart McCarthy, head of products and programmes at Yggdrasil.
