Low value symbols are depicted as water buckets, apples, thermometers, shoes and bottles of poison. If the right number of winning combinations land on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x0.2 and x10 the player’s bet.
Meanwhile, four marathon runners represent the high value symbols, with background colours of green, blue, purple and yellow. These symbols can provide between x2 and x200 the player’s stake.
Additionally, bronze, silver and gold medals can drop into play displaying monetary values that range from x2 to x5,000 the player’s bet. Landing coins on winning paylines can payout between x1 and x20.
The displayed coin prizes can be collected by wild runners, which appear with an orange background, whenever they appear on the same spin.

Whenever three medal symbols land on the first reel, filling it completely, a special re-spin feature can occur, causing reels two to five to re-spin to provide another chance of landing a wild collect symbol or create payline wins with the medals.
If just two scatters land on the same spin, one of two re-spin features can occur to provide players with another chance to activate the free spins game mode.
Based on a story from the 1904 St Louis marathon where a pack of dogs chased after one runner, the dogs second chance feature causes the two scatters to nudge one space downwards before re-spinning all reels. This can occur up to two times in a row, depending on where the initial scatters landed.
Furthermore, the whirlwind re-spin feature will reveal a third scatter on a random reel to guarantee that the free spins game mode is activated.
Before the free spins begin, players can win up to five game-enhancing modifiers to remain active during the bonus game mode, including more money medals added to the reels, more wild collectors, an increase in re-spin features, instant multipliers or two additional free spins.
Throughout the free spins, each wild collector that appears will apply itself to a meter above the reel set. Every fourth wild that is collected will progress the free spins feature by awarding 10 additional spins and multipliers for all wild collections.
Four wilds will award a multiplier of x2 to all wild collects that occur, eight wilds increase the multiplier to x3 and 12 wilds in total bring the multiplier to x10.
Several re-spin features can occur in the free spins game mode. The pack of dogs re-spin feature can occur when wild collect symbols land on the reels with no money medals to collect, placing medals on the reels in random positions.
Based on another story from the St Louis marathon where one runner got so hungry he ate rotten apples, the rotten apples re-spin feature can occur when wild collect symbols land on the reels with no money medals to collect, also placing medals on the reels in random positions.
Finally, inspired by another marathon story where one runner hopped in a car for 11 miles, the car re-spin feature can place wild collectors on the reels on a spin where only medal symbols have appeared.
