DreamSpin Studios launched into the slot industry last week with a daring debut revolving around bees, outer space and reel-expanding wins, claiming the studio’s first Slot of the Week award with Buzz Thrill.
Following years of production highlighted in our DreamSpin: The Journey podcast series, Buzz Thrill hit players’ screens for the first time to present a six-reel slot with a 2-3-4-4-3-2 row set-up, 46,656 ways to win and a maximum win worth x5,000 the player’s stake. The title uses high volatility with an RTP of 94.26%.

Throughout the base game, all wins will result in a free respin being awarded. During the respin, each reel that contributed to the win will expand by one symbol.
If another win occurs, the free respin feature will continue. Each reel can expand to include six symbols.
Low value symbols are represented by the high end of a deck of cards, from 10 through to Ace, while different bee characters depict the high value symbols, with larvae, scientist, bodybuilder, slob and queen bees offering between x0.3 and x10 the player’s bet.
Bonus honey receptacles can also land on the reels, triggering six free spins when three land on the same spin.
Mystery door symbols can appear on reels two through five, revealing either wild symbols or special coin symbols in every position they occupy on the reels. Wild symbols will substitute for all symbols other than the bonus honey receptacles.
If coins are revealed, they will instantly award multiplied bet amounts ranging from x1 to x500 the player’s wager. Any wins with the coins offered through the mystery door symbols will not result in a free respin being awarded.
Wins can be formed from both sides of the reels in this game, and while an initial 576 payways are available, this can increase to 46,656 as the reels expand.
In the free spins game mode, each reel that expands as a result of winning combinations will not reset in between spins, as they do in the base game.
If coins appear in the free spins game mode, they will expand to cover the reel they landed on after revealing their instant prize value. If two coins appear on the same reel, their coins will merge before expanding, increasing the win potential.
Additionally, a bee character can randomly appear below the reels during the free spins. This bee will shoot one symbol on the board, causing it to expand completely across its reel.
These expanded symbols can then pay out for winning combinations regardless of payway combinations, as long as a minimum of two reels have been filled for high value symbols, or three reels for low value symbols.
